What is critical writing?

Answer

Critical writing can be distinguished from descriptive writing, which is concerned with providing factual and observable information.

Critical writing requires you to interpret, analyse and evaluate information, and to interrogate information considering questions such as 'how' and 'why'. For example, you can describe the sky as appearing blue, and you can go on to ask why this is so and present well-researched, authoritative evidence to support your response.
