What steps should I take if I'd like to visit another university's library?

Answer

To visit another university's library, you will need to join the SCONUL Access Scheme. The SCONUL scheme is a valuable initiative that connects libraries and promotes collaboration across the United Kingdom and Ireland. Joining the SCONUL scheme opens a world of opportunities for our library and its patrons.

  1. Your application will be sent to the University of Suffolk Library
  2. We will review your application and the current standing of your library account. Please note that we reserve the right to reject your application if you there are significant unpaid charges, lost or long overdue items associated with your account.
  3. If your application is approved, you will receive a confirmation email.

Please note that all academic libraries have different internal procedures and may not permit walk-in access. We advise liaising directly with individual libraries in advance of your planned visit to avoid disappointment.
